Probably won't command Hader money because Hader had a longer more successful track record, however, likely in the 12-14M range which would put him out of reach for the Padres. Enjoy the team this year, because a lot of tough decisions have to be made to stay under the CBT in 2025.

Oscar Mercado opts out of Padres minor league deal. San Diego did not call him up, so the 29-year-old heads back to free agency.
