Quote from Jeremy Hill on June 28, 2024, 10:16 amLooks like they're calling up Austin Davis. 31 year old lefty who has been sort of a journeyman AAAA type. He has been good in AAA this year and the Red Sox lineup is lefty heavy. No word on the corresponding move. I would guess it'll be Cosgrove.

Quote from WindsorUK on June 28, 2024, 6:51 pmOkay, this is getting ridiculous! Higashioka and Merrill are KILLING it in June!
Any chance either stays this hot after the break? Geeze......absolutely loving it though👍🏼
And how about Vasquez? Another 4+, only 1 run?

Quote from WindsorUK on June 28, 2024, 6:55 pmHigashioka, last 30 games, 19 hits, 8 HR's.....and 26 K's.
Feast or famine.
Still, I'll take it.

Let’s hope Vasquez isn’t injured
We need his innings

Quote from 3fingersplit on June 28, 2024, 8:36 pmHigashioka is on a heater that's for sure and talk about timing...the guy has just made himself an integral part of the team and he and Campusano are a nice tandem. What can you say about Merrill...just turned 21, Padres needed a Center Fielder and Jackson steps up...never played it before in his life and he has done a great job and I can't really think of any glaring miscues on his part. At the plate this kid is just getting better and better...Merrill is hitting .282 , has a .318 OBP with a .757 OPS in 280 at bats, 37 Runs, 79 Hits, 40 RBI, 9 Stolen Bases and he just stroked Home Run #11 tonight...I knew he was going to be a keeper when I saw him a few years ago at Spring Training but did anybody see this coming this fast ? I don't know who his competition is for ROY but I haven't heard anything or anybody that has come close to what Jackson has done this year and he has absolutely been one of the main guys that has the Padres where they are so far this season. He has my vote for ROY...Love this kid and AJ...if you are reading this...Do a Ronald Acuna Jr thing...San Diego Style and get Jackson signed long term. If he continues doing what he has been doing this season he is not a guy you want to take a chance that he gets to free agency...he is only going to get more and more expensive.
Great Win Tonight
Go Padres !!!

Quote from Jeremy Hill on June 29, 2024, 7:31 amOnly Aaron Judge and Francisco Alvarez have a higher OPS than Higgy in June.
One of the earliest scouting reports I remember reading about Merrill compared him to Michael Brantley if Michael Brantley could play SS. Turns out he might actually be Brantley if Brantley could have handled CF. That's a pretty damn good player. We talked about it a little bit in a different thread. He's got to be in the heart of the ROY conversation. Position player wise I think Joey Ortiz and Masyn Winn are the only ones in the same vicinity. The bigger threat probably comes on the pitching side. Paul Skenes, Shota Imanaga, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Gavin Stone and a few others are having nice years. Let's also not forget our own Matt Waldron in the conversation. He should be right in the thick of it too.

How much fun has the last week been?
Hard to fathom this offense without Fernando being this good.
That was Bostons best Starter….Keep it up boys!
I’m gonna start calling Merrill ROY.
