Snell is ON tonight...but he's at 50 pitches through 3. Be lucky to last 6.
With his stuff, be great to see him make it into the 7th.

Without looking it up I'm guessing Snell's run support numbers are dismal. Even in the context of the season long struggles they seem to struggle when he's on the mound.

Every season there is always a pitcher that is just the hard luck guy…offense scores very little and the starting pitcher gets hung with a losing record.
This year it’s Blake Snell…he threw a good game and again gets a no decision which sucks because he pitched good enough to get a W….instead it turns into a walk off loss

You have to think that Melvin has to be held responsible for the pathetic performance of this team at some point, right? I dont like seeing people losing their job, but this team is too talented to be floundering this much. Sure Tatis had the suspension, Machado has been injured, and Soto started slow (which I still blame Melvin for, due to Soto's line up position) but this team still had enough high level players to overcome these issues.
Cant blame ownership, Siedler is writing the checks. Maybe some blame falls on Preller, in getting too many stars and the chemistry is not right; however, Torre was able to handle that situation in NYY. Since you cant get rid of all the players, this situation lands on the shoulders of Melvin. And to this point, he is not doing something to get the best out of this team.
I may just start rooting for the DBacks this season, they put forth an effort and are performing well.....with a lot of "kids" on the team.

Blame the owner for opening the check book ... then blame Preller for targeting failing big money players while developing an incomplete roster ... then blame the manager for failing to motivate this group of high skilled players ... then blame the coaches for not fixing this group of high skilled players ... then blame the media for over hyping this group of high skilled players ... then blame the fans for being "fair weather" BUT
NEVER NEVER NEVER BLAME THE PLAYERS for not performing to their past standards that earned them these mega contract. They had the skills ... they got paid ... suddenly everyone else has to take responsibility to get them to perform. Success, money sometimes results in comfort and complacent attitude ... not in everyone but that is hard for the peasants to change.

Day game after a night game and Nola is catching (Musgrove also likes him behind the plate) … but what is interesting is that Sanchez landed as the RHH DH over Cruz. Could this begin to signal the end of Cruz … he has been poor except for a 3-4 games all season and his bat would be his only value.
An Alfaro - Sanchez - Nola trio for C/DH always ensures a catcher in waiting if two are playing a one get injured (or a LHPH is deployed to remove one from the game with potentially loss the DH)
I guess in the short run I see Nola > Cruz in team value given the versatility and linkage with Darvish / Musgrove. Maybe in 2 months … when Campusano may returns … that may change.
