I guess at this point in the season … winning is good but not meaning as much as seeing what the new options offer and not making any injuries worse.

Max playing time for Campusano, Batten, Azocar, and Rosario and starts for Waldron and Avila even if that leads to losses is preferred. Just shut down Machado and be careful with the Bogaerts shin / calf injury. Release R.Hill and re-call Morejon (or Otto)

Padres are not that far from the bottom 6 records … and that would save the #1 pick from being dropped 10 slots due to the luxury tax penalty. Not suggest tank for that reason … just if that is the result of seeing the kids … just a side benefit.
