Padres All-Time Stats for HR & W
Quote from brent wolff on March 28, 2024, 11:02 amAs our Pads are beginning their 55th season, it still astounds me that our all time HR leader only has a total of 163 by the beloved Nate Colbert. Plus the all time Wins leader is Eric Show with only 100.
It is likely that Manny Machado becomes our all time HR leader this season as he only needs 25 to pass Nate Colbert. Fernando Tatis Jr should be #6 by the end of this season also as he needs 30 to pass up Mr. Padre (Tony Gwynn) for 6th all-time.
It is going to be a long time before any one passes Show in career Wins however.
Here is a list of our Top 10 all-time HR leaders:
- Nate Colbert 163
- Adrian Gonzalez 161
- Phil Nevin 156
- Dave Winfield 154
- Manny Machado 139 (active)
- Tony Gwynn 135
- Wil Myers 134
- Ryne Klesko 133
- Ken Caminiti 121
- Fernando Tatis, Jr. 106 (active)
Here is the list of Top 10 in Career Wins
- Eric Show 100
- Jake Peavy 92
- Randy Jones 92 (tied for 2nd)
- Ed Whitson 77
- Andy Ashby 70
- Andy Benes 69
- Andy Hawkins 60
- Clayton Richard 58
- Bruce Hurst 55
- Joey Hamilton 55 (tied for 9th)
The Padres have only had a total of 14 pitchers top 50 wins in their SD careers. Yu Darvish is currently tied for 26th all time with 32 wins. Yu could jump into our top 20 in all time wins by winning 8 games, to #17 by winning 11 games, #16 by winning 16 games (passing Adam Eaton-47 W's) and #15 by winning 18 games (passing Brian Lawrence-49 W's) this season. Joe Musgrove has 31 career wins, so he could also jump into our top 20 by winning 9 games, #17 by winning 12 games, #16 by winning 17 games & #15 by winning 19 games. Blake Snell won 29 games in his Padre career. No other current Padre is in the Top 100 in career wins. Amazingly, if you win 12 games, you are in the Top 100 in career wins for the Padres.
So, what can you make of this? It tells me that the Padres history is a revolving door of players, except for Mr. Padre himself, Tony Gwynn.

Doubt we ever see another 300 game winner.
