29-22
Monday, May 26 - 5:40pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
LHP Weathers(1-0, 1.80 ERA, 9 K, .194 BAA) vs RHP Randy Vásquez(3-4, 3.49 ERA, 27 K, .238 BAA)Tuesday, May 27 - 6:40pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
RHP Meyer(3-4, 4.15 ERA, 63 K, .251 BAA) vs RHP Stephen Kolek(2-1, 2.84 ERA, 21 K, .255 BAA)Wednesday, May 28 - 1:10pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
RHP Sandy Alcantara(2-6, 7.88 ERA, 39 K, .267 BAA) vs LHP Kyle Hart(2-2, 6.00 ERA, 16 K, .277 BAA)The Padres begin a 6-game stretch on a winning note and at home to end the month against teams they should beat -- the Marlins and the Pirates, both last in their divisions. Weathers has impressive numbers. He never pitched that well when he was with the Padres. He looks to be the toughest that the Padres will face. The Marlins best hitter is OF Kyle Stowers, who is the only Marlin not on the IL that is hitting over .300 avg.
Sheets has been hot. He has gone as gone 6 for 16 (.375 avg), 5 HR and 8 RBI in the last 4 games. He has also played a decent LF. Great acquisition by AJP. Merrilll looks like he has come out of slump. Tatis is struggling going a mere 2 for 12 this weekend against the Braves. I llike Sheets after Merrill. Maybe Bogaerts should bat 9th. Thoughts?
Top NL West games: Dodgers(32-21) at Guardians(29-23), Giants(31-22) at Tigers(34-20), Dbacks(26-27) host Pirates(19-35)
While the Padres are playing the struggling Marlins, the Dodgers and Giants are going up against tough teams. Let's hope the Padres can capitalize on it.GO PADRES!

Quote from BoosterSD on May 26, 2025, 8:10 pmI did not like the moves of Schildt in the 9th inning. I think I would have taken my chances with Maldanaldo bunting over Iglesias/and or pinch running for Iglesias with Wade. And then taking my chances with Tatis at the plate.

Quote from ultratvfan on May 26, 2025, 8:41 pmPadres win it on a walk off wild pitch. I'll take it.
Vasquez struggled early on, but settle down and did not allow another hit after the 2nd inning. BP was solid.
Way to go Manny on his tying HR and a great hustle by Wade to score the winning run.GO PADRES!
