Manny Machado signs with Padres!!!!!

To be honest, I think the biggest thing to look at when considering to opt out is Tatis. One, their relationship. Despite their blow up towards the end of last season, I think the two are close. Does Machado want to stay in SD with Tatis? Or does Machado see the writing on the wall with Abrams coming soon, and thinks that Tatis will need to slide to 3B, and then that maybe makes Machado want to opt out.
As far as the dollars are concerned, and whether he can get a bigger contract at age 32, a lot of that will have to do with the new CBA and luxury taxes.

With the DH now Manny doesn’t have anything to worry about.
Also,even if he opts out I would think we would be the favorites to re-sign him.
He will be going into the Hall of Fame as a Padre in 15 years if we don’t let him go.

Thank goodness!
I was watching out of the corner of my eye when it happened...at Fathers Day family get together and I screamed out "Oh my God!"
Everyone looked at me wondering what horrible think just happened...when I told them they all just shrugged and said..."Oh".
They have no idea how traumatic that moment was for us.
It's tough sometimes living on the East Coast without Padre family support!
So when do we officially find out about Abrams and/or Eguy?

2 position players up one P down (need to be at 13 Pitchers *we are at 14 by gametine)... and Machado IL 10 days almost certain although they could wait a day or 2 ..so Today we may just have the +1 position player -1 pitcher sent down announcement.. so I'd say we will know in 2-3 hours..before lineups are announced

I think the quote of I am Manny "fkng" Machado was a way of Machado to direct all criticism his way (sort of a leadership tactic to deflect from his team) like "Bring it to me" allowing the rest of his team to go about their way and taking on whatever "attention" comes his way....
