RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto(10-8, 2.90 ERA, 151 K, .201 BAA) vs RHP Nick Pivetta(13-4, 2.81 ERA, 154 K, .190 BAA)
Here we are one week later. Another biggest showdown of the season and the last series of the regular season that the Padres will play the Dodgers and it will be on Padre turf. The Padres have a 41-21 at home whereas the Dodgers are 32-31 on the road. Let's hope the Padres play alot better this time.
This time around they will not have to face Kershaw and their own ace Pivetta will be in this series. Yamamoto is coming off back to back rough starts surrendering 6 runs to the Angels and 3 runs to the Rockies. Also and thankfully, Cease will not be in this series.
After this series the Padres hit the road to play the Mariners and the Twins to end the month and the Dodgers host the Reds and the Dbacks.

The Padres hang on to beat Snell and the Dodgers and move into a first place tie.
Darvish was outstanding allowing on 1 run on 1 hit in 6 IP. Suarez kept me on the edge of my seat. But, he came through.
Now they need to take care of Glasnow and the Dodgers tomorrow.

Manny diving into first base showed how passionate he was to win this game. Showed great leadership even if he didn't beat out the play. Let's hope Cortes can keep the ball in the park tomorrow. GO PADRES!

Cease does pitch much better at Petco than he does on the road, at least this year.

The Padres are playing alot better this weekend. They beat Glasnow and the Dodgers to take game 2 and move into sole first place.
Cortes was outstanding allowing only 1 hit and 0 runs in 6 IP.
Pivetta on the mound tomorrow.
Get out the brooms!

Definitely a good chance to sweep with Pivetta on the mound tomorrow. Pitch well, play solid defense, and hit/walk like we did today!!
Return the results from last weekend in LA.
