Reynolds optioned. Heyward on waivers to make room on 40 man to add Hoeing from 60 day IL.

I was wrong. I thought Morgan would optioned. Instead it was Reynolds. I thought there was room on the 40-man.

They used up the open slots with the adds of Brooks and Johnson.

IF Darvish comes off the 60 day they will need another offset move but seems to be a lot of options with fringe players on the 40 man. Same if they make another non-roster add via call-up or trade.

Good win! A much needed win.

Cease was outstanding. The BP held. I would have thought Hoeing would have pitched to give entire BP rest.

Kudos to Tatis on his 3-run HR. Bogaerts goes 9-12 in his last 3 games.

Now win the rubber match to take series. Vasquez on the mound and the Padres to face former Padre Lugo.

GO PADRES!

Dodgers lose to Nationals. Padres move up to 5 games back.

Merrill is back and batting second. Lockridge optioned to Triple-A El Paso.

Game 3 Lineup
1. Tatis RF
2. Merrill CF
3. Machado 3B
4. Arraez 1B
5. Sheets DH
6. Bogaerts  SS
7. Cronenworth 2B
8. Wade LF
9. Maldonado C

Vásquez P

Man, I sure wish they'd stop putting slugs in front of Nando( granted, Maldonado doesn't reach base very often but still....)

Rather see Wade there, move Maldonado to 8, create L,R,L in 7,8,9

The Padres win it walk off style taking the series from the Royals.
This is the first time the Padres won at least two in a row since the beginning of June.

Pitching was outstanding. Vásquez went 7 innings for the first time this season. Nice to see Suarez back.
Iglesias is the MVP of the game going 1 for 2 and hitting in all 3 runs.

I have to give Kudos to the Royals RF Caglianone for an outstanding catch robbing Merrill of a 2-run HR.

Bring on the Nats!

GO PADRES!
