At 17 years, 8 months old, Haynes was the youngest pitcher selected in the entire Draft.
And some nice comments here from Keith Law & Jim Callis, for the record ...

Quote from fenn68 on December 20, 2021, 1:27 pmI think Madfriars reported Haynes getting TJ surgery early last summer. Should keep him out of 2022 with maybe some late season rehab in AZ or in the winter instructs.

Left-hander Jagger Haynes made his professional debut Friday night, functioning as the opener. He threw a scoreless inning before passing the baton to the bullpen. Haynes, 20, was drafted by the Padres in the shortened 2020 draft, out of high school in Cerro Gordo, North Carolina. He had Tommy John surgery in 2021 and missed the last two seasons. Since he hasn’t pitched competitively in three seasons, the organization will surely monitor his innings.

With eight hits (six of them singles) and nothing to show for it, it was a tough one for the Storm at the Diamond on Thursday night. Prospect hounds will be happy to know that, despite taking the loss, Jagger Haynes looked excellent in his two innings of work, throwing 15 strikes on 18 pitches, striking out one, walking none, and wanting one pitch which left the yard back. Haynes has been a bit of an enigma for Padres fans, seeing as he joined the organization during the bizarre, COVID-impacted 2020 draft, then missed two years with elbow issues and recovering from surgery. A 6-foot-3 lefty drafted out of high school in North Carolina, Haynes is still only 20 years old and brings a high-ceiling arm to the Storm roster, though his work will be limited as he works his way back to the mound.

The Storm poured it on and dominated Visalia in all facets of the game, with Jagger Haynes setting the tone on the mound. Haynes pitched into the second inning, allowing one hit, walking one, and a run scored on an error before his evening was over due to pitch count limitations as the Padres carefully work him back from Tommy John surgery. After setting down all four of his outs via the strikeout, Haynes now owns a 2.08 ERA in his debut professional campaign.
