Ah ... OK ... so this is NOT an injury situation ... AFAIK ...

Quote from WindsorUK on June 21, 2024, 4:51 pmOh, and did I miss something with Campusano? Higashioka has been playing A LOT lately!
Kyle can hit the long ball, and throw dudes out but he's usually pretty bad at the dish.

And what's the update on Bogaerts?
Patino had TJ surgery I believe and is on the 60 day IL for the season (and likely most of next season).
Working out as much as he can as his bone heals … no surgery. No date on beginning hitting / throwing but still some time down the road before that happens.

Quote from WindsorUK on June 29, 2024, 6:29 pmIs Bogaerts scheduled back after the break? Has he been cleared to carry out baseball activity? Do they have him scheduled at Elsinore? Or somewhere in Texas?
As well as this group is playing, I'm really cautious bringing him back. As of right now, he has no position. Does he DH after a few weeks of minor league rehab?
Xander needs to come back and be Xander the rest of the year if we're hoping to make a real run in October.
If not, what does it take to package him out and clear his contract? Snelling? Salas? De Vries? 2 of the 3?
I just hope he can return and be at least close to the player we signed.

Quote from Randy Manese on June 29, 2024, 8:20 pmI disagree about X not having a position if he returns to full strength, ie, can swing a bat. Arraez, for as good a hitter as he is, is awful in the field and can't even handle throws at 1st base - sometimes when they are right at him. His tracking of pop-ups and foul balls are an adventure and he has limited range. We are spoiled by having Kim, Cronenworth and Machado as our other infielders but X can handle 2nd effectively but really his best position in the future should be first base. At either position, he's an easy upgrade defensively over Arraez. You might see Arraez and X trade off at the DH but it would be shame to take Solano out of that slot but it really depends, as you say, at what offensive level X can perform at. The X we saw for many years in Boston would not even think of putting Solano (or maybe even Arreaz) ahead of him in the staring line-up. Im hoping we see that Xander.

Quote from WindsorUK on June 30, 2024, 2:06 am100% agree that Bogaerts position going forward is 1B. I think we're stronger with Jake at 2B. And Arraez as a DH. Dude is rather bad in the field.
