From today's DFR ...
The TinCaps got some bad news in the short-term as CJ Abrams traveled to San Diego to have his shoulder examined. While the 18-year-old star appears to have gotten good long-term news, he’ll head to the IL for a few weeks just as the TinCaps have been heating up.

Jacob Nix drew the unenviable task of making his second Cal League rehab start in Lancaster. Nix threw 77 pitches (53 strikes) over 4.1 innings but he and his defense committed five errors to yield six unearned runs. Still, Nix went from 65 pitches in his last start to 77 in this one as he works back from a UCL strain. He has time to make two more starts during his 30-day assignment.

From today's DFR ...
RHP Jacob Nix made his first rehab start at Triple-A and pitched five shutout innings to earn the victory. The righty’s fastball sat in the low 90s but he displayed fantastic command. He walked just one batter and struck out six. Nix has ramped back up with a pair of outings in the AZL and two for Lake Elsinore. He’s struck out 17 over his last 13.2 innings. The 23-year-old could get one more rehab outing before being activated at the end of a 30-day assignment.

It looks like Mejia is out for the year with an oblique strain. Hedges better make these last 4 weeks count.
