I hope that baserunning blunder by Tatis does not come back to haunt the Padres.

No idea what he was thinking. 2 outs ... on first .... has great speed ... Machado hits a ground ball single to RF .... Tatis eases up going to 2B then changes his mind and runs well past 2nd ... RF throw a soft loopy toss to 2B and Tatis is so far off is out trying to get back. Why he was not going all out to 3rd from the get go ... not idea. As bad once he committed well past 2B should have just kept going.

Tatis is having a bad series offensively and on the base paths.

Seemed like his head was totally not in the game ... not a good look ...

So much for the double header taxing our bullpen.

Now Richard only has to go 5 or 6 and we’re completely ready for the Duds!

The move to go for Clevinger has really transformed the team; not even so much b/c he was excellent today.  It's b/c we really had no 5th starter.  If Morejon struck out every batter he faced, he'd still be limited to 3 IP.  "Built in" that pen was going 5-6-7 innings every 5th start; just not a sustainable model even in a short season.  Think about who they're going to now, too.  Late inning guys, b/c we're usually there with a lead by the time the starter's out now.  If someone has a bad start or injury like CP last time, now it's "meh" instead of a crisis b/c of the "bullpen game" coming up every 5th day.

Almost like the doubleheader just played into our hands by knocking 4 innings off the pen, leaving only 2+ in 2 games instead of 1.

OUTSTANDING!!   Two sweeps setting up an epic series here... let's get em!!

We need to take at least two out of three to have any hopes of catching the Dodgers.
