Just too many hitters on this Padre team.
The rest of the NL has a tough task trying to keep this offense in check.

The good news is that right now,with the way Lamet and Davies are pitching and with the acquisition of Clevinger,we don’t need him to be the Ace we thought he was.He just has to be a good #5 starter until he figures out what’s going on.
He’s still extremely young and inexperienced.Remember he missed a bunch of development time due to TJ and just about skipped AA and AAA.
I think he will be fine now that he doesn’t have to carry the staff.

Paddack out .... Morejon in for the 3rd.
Morejon was warming up in the 2nd. Some note that Paddack’s FB lost a couple MPH between the 1st and 2nd.
Speculate ...

Didn’t look like an injury situation?
The fact that Morejon was warming up already makes it look like a planned short outing.
If he was injured they wouldn’t have let him finish the inning.
It is odd though.

Stammen warming up .... Morejon not in trouble so setting up for the 5th?

Morejon probably on about a 30 pitch limit. Really don't think this was planned...looking ahead immediately, Baez & Lucchesi of course are available as "voluntary" recalls. Of course any/all if someone is hurt...

Setting up for Stammen to start the 5th ... and when the LHH come up ... a call to either Hill or Strahm ... then back to a RHP (depending on the score) ...
