Now Weathers?

Oh  No!

Clevinger.......Lamet.....Morejon.....Weathers......?

I’m  guessing if he is going to miss a start we’re gonna have to bring up somebody?

Lamet if his bullpen went well.

I just noticed it wasn't Weathers after the double. WTF is going on with our starters?

Looks like back to .500 with Rameriz going.  Hope I'm wrong but the way we are hitting I doubt a couple will win it

How we hitting now?

7 straight hits!

That's why I don't gamble, I suck at it. I didn't think we could score more than a couple, now at 12

From Sunday's DFR ...

Ryan Weathers made his Triple-A debut on Saturday and, despite breaking camp with the big club, was still the youngest player on the roster at 21. After Friday night’s disappointing start by top prospect MacKenzie Gore, Weathers – who, was sent down to El Paso to maintain his starter’s routine – came through. He threw 77 pitches, 52 for strikes and Statcast had his fastball sitting around 94 mph most of the night. He worked quickly and had command of his fastball, change and slider. It’s hard to imagine he’s going to spend a significant amount of time in the minors.

Any new scouting reports / projections on Weathers?

He is still only 22 and last season at age 21 had an excellent 1st half (59 innings / 2.91 ERA) before he faded in the 2nd half (36 innings / 9.25 ERA). In EP this year he has been ineffective in 43 innings / 6.81 ERA.

Clearly has (had) the stuff in his minors prior to 2022 and in the 1st half of 2022 in the ML to be successful. Now the wheels have come off.

With Musgrove, Manaea, Clevinger, and potentially Martinez FA after the season and effective Weathers can be a factor in the decision of how many to attempt to retain. Alternatively, an effective Weathers could be a trade chip for offense.
