COLO AT THE PADRES

Page 1 of 5Next

Starters are line-up to be:

Lamet - Clevinger - Davies

Padres could use this series at home to push COLO out of any real chance of gaining 2nd place ... but lose 3 games and back into a real race. Not a series to take lightly.

I bet Lamet wishes he got the same run support Davies has.

Struggling against another LHP ... Pham is really needed.

Have I mentioned I hate giving up an out?

Grisham is our hottest hitter....and they have him bunting with no outs and two on.

Already in scoring position....

Bases loaded with one out and we don’t score.

Hmm....don’t you wish we had that out back we gave away for nothing?

This team leads all of baseball in runs scored.....we don’t need to manufacture runs.

If a single scores a run we shouldn’t give up an out just to move a runner one more base.

The only pitch Kemp was gonna hit was a fastball.

Lamet must have meant for that to not be right down the middle.

I was yelling for another Slider there.....

Lets just hope it doesn’t hurt.

What a Great start by Lamet!
This kid shouldn’t only have 2 wins.

Speed kills, Mateo can fly no one else scores except maybe Tatis

Now that is a great finish ... Mateo really can run.

Tingler made the right move .... PH Garcia (hit) ... PR Mateo with flat out speed for the winning run.

An old fashioned game.

Tingler made all the right moves today, even though he shouldn't have had to had we been able to move some of those base runners along.  But sometimes, that's what happens and you have to dig down and pull it out.  Lineup will definitely miss Hosmer not only for hit clutch hitting lately but also for his glove.  I'm not keen about putting Nola at 1b and can't see Moreland there all the time.  My preference would be to put Cronenworth back at 1st and Garcia at 2nd, keeping Profar in left until Pham is ready to play in the OF.   Ona n0t a good outfielder, so have to keep him at DH and not sure I want to bring up Allen at this point, but might have too.  Hopefully, our pitching will continue to be good and some guys unexpectedly step up to cover for Hosmer in the short run.  Hosmer will probably be able to DH sooner than he'll be able to take the field - minimum 2 weeks, maybe closer to 3?

Ugggh.  At least we won, but losing Hosmer on a freaking bunt of all things hurts.  Watching the video I'd say 50% his fault but 50% that ball was just up & in  & tough to get out of the way of.

They are going to have to mix & match with so many IL guys here...  ummm... are we going to see Yonder Alonso part II?... the return of Headley went so well 🙁     I'm hoping they select Jason Vosler instead; kind of like LH Ty France 3B/1B type guy.
