Chicago White Sox at San Diego Padres: May 1-3

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Just got home from the game. What a clunker. Every team goes through bad stretches. Hopefully the boys come out of this one soon. We need our big money bats to get going.

I guess the reports I saw about Canning getting another rehab start were wrong. Stammen announced him as the starter for tomorrow after the game.

Ugh...bases loaded, no one out and we can't even sniff a run.

Man, that was a brutal game ending to an even more brutal game, and the most brutal series. It seems Ike at least once every year these guys choke against an inferior opponent at home, which ultimately costs them at the end of the year.

Hoping this is just a hiccup but I'm not sure where to look for optimism? A league average group of starters or a bottom 10 offense( who has little to no power and no speed, and certainly no urgency!)?

I'm sure we'll win another game at some point......

The wierd part is that, the NL West has lost 21 games since Monday, good (or bad for that matter) enough for a 4-21 record, accumulating 19 Ls in a row, yikes!

Canning reinstated and starts game 3 instead of Vasquez. German Marquez placed on 15-day IL.

Game 3 Lineup

1. Laureano LF

2. Andujar DH

3  Merrill CF

4. Machado 3B

5. Bogaerts SS

6. France 1B

7. Castellanos RF

8. Fermin C

9. Cronenworth 2B

Canning P

Nice to see Tatis NOT in the lineup.

I'd give Castellanos a run for a week or so, let FTJ watch. See if it gets a fire burning in him, you know, piss him off?

The Padres snap their 4-game losing streak keeping pace with the Dodgers, who snapped their 4-game losing streak, remaining 1/2 game back.

Canning was outstanding and Miller closes the door earning his MLB leading 11th save.

The Padres head to Frisco for 3 games and then return home.

GO PADRES!

Canning looked really good. He could be a huge upgrade for the rotation.

I liked seeing Andujar in the 2 hole today. I read that he's been dealing with a hamstring issue. I would like to see him get as many ABs as he can handle. I think they should consider making him the new lead off guy.
