AJP always trades too much and should not have traded Bergert.
Still, we have plenty of effective BP guys, problem is the SPs, also not having Tatis and Bogaerts and still no Merrill in the lineup sends the offense to the pre trade deadline situation.

Trading 2 SP off the major league team PLUS the 2 SP that are next in line to replace them at the deadline( not to mention your top 3 SP on IR) leaves you with the mess we have now.
Cease shouldn't be here. Short of him throwing a No-No in the wildcard round, he'll have provided zero value to this organization from the deadline, forward. While I desperately hope he finds Good Cease in the next month, I'm not holding my breath.

Losing Adam is horrible. I feel sorry for Jason.
But maybe this gives us a chance to use the guy we traded the #3 prospect in all of baseball for. You guys remember him? Name is Miller, I believe?🤔

With Jason Adam out for the season, I expect to see more of Miller. As much as we will miss Adam, I think the BP will be OK.

The Padres have lost 7 of their last 9 games. Had they won 7 of their last 9 games they would be in first place by 2 or 3 games.
Darvish did not look good. But, the lack of offense is just as much to blame.
I hope we are not witnessing a historic collapse.
Come on Padres. Get the offense going

I think its some untimely slump/injuries situation. The unfortunate thing is these are teams that we should take two of three from, not go 1 and 2, in MIN and BAL. They have traded away half their team it seems at the deadline and these are the games that you need to fatten up on, and its not happening.
Need to win today, then a day off, followed by a road series in COL where stupid stuff can happen.
