Yep. Things weren't looking good in the first inning. To get out of it with just the 1 unearned run allowed and put up 4 more scoreless innings after throwing a ton of pitches was huge. It was nice to see Brito have a successful 1st outing back in the big leagues too.

Luis Rengifo was added to the 40 man (was an open slot) and called up with Samad Taylor going on the IL with an oblique strain.
Also, Fermin to EP on a rehab.

Padres offense came alive tonight. Every Padre except Sheets got at least one hit. Campy continues to be amazing going 2 for 3 and a HR.
King was outstanding.
Let's hope Canning is solid to take the series.

Maybe, might be more on how they do against TOR this weekend. AZ has not been in the playoffs since 2023. TOR was in the WS last year, and probably should have won over the LAD.

Is the D backs pitcher atop this years Cy Young tables? The reason I ask is that our guys seem to have no clue what to do with him? Or maybe just the game plan going in was terribly flawed?
Whichever way you cut it, our guys are making him look like the second coming of Bob Gibson!

Wins against NL teams we're battling for a WC spot mean more than wins against any AL team.
Of course they "all" matter....but we need to especially win every NL series we play to have any chance to make the playoffs
