All-Time Padres Home and Road Season Records

Broken down into Murph/Qualcomm and Petco Park eras.

Padres home records since Petco Park opened in 2004.  This is the 21st season at Petco and in only 3 seasons have the Pads ever won more than 45 games at Petco Park, 2005 (46-35), 2007 (47-34), & 2014 (48-33, our best season at Petco).  We also went 45-36 in the 2010, 2013, 2021 & 2024 seasons.  Interestingly, our record at Petco for the 2022 & 2023 seasons was 44-37.  The Padres have had 15 home winning seasons out of the 21 seasons at Petco.

It should be noted that in the Covid year of 2020, with no fans in attendance, the Pads went 21-11 at Petco, a .656 winning percentage, so that is our best year at Petco if using winning percentage as the criteria.

At the Murph/Qualcomm, the best home record was in 1998, when the Pads went 54-27 a .667 winning percentage!  The next two top seasons were in 1978 the Pads went 50-31 at home, a .617 winning percentge.  Those were the only 2, 50 win seasons at home.  In 1984 the Pads went 48-33, a .593 winning percentage. Overall, the Pads had 18 home winning seasons out of their 35 years at the Murph/Qualcomm.

Amazingly, the Padres first winning season on the road was not until the 1984 season (44-37)!  The only other Padres teams with winning records on the road during the Murph/Qualcomm era were:  1989 (43-38), 1991 (42-39), 1996 (46-35), 1998 (44-37), & 2001 (44-37).  That is it, only 6 winning road seasons in 35 years on the road during the Murph/Qualcomm era.

This year's team set the record for most road wins in both the Petco Park era and any Padres team ever, at 48-33, a .593 winning percentage.  The 2004, 2006, 2010 & 2022 teams (all went 45-36, a .556 winning percentage).  Again, it should be noted that in the Covid year of 2020, the Pads went 16-12 on the road, a .571 winning percentage.  This year was the 6th road winning season in 21 seasons in the Petco era.  Go Pads!
