The Ump shouldn't change the outcome of the game like that. That's total BS.
I can't wait until they get rid of umps calling balls and strikes. It's just too important to leave that to humans.

I'd really like to see Jake actually go with a pitch instead of trying to pull it over the wall in right.

Tatis and Manny, sans his lone HR, stunk it up.

Top of the order:
Tatis ... 1 for 12 (.083)
Arraez ...2 for 11 (.182)
Machado ... 1 for 10 (.100)
That is a total failure ... add only 3 walks among the three. Add
Cronenworth ... 0 for 11 (.000) down in 8th slot and not going to win with those performances.
At least some pluses should be given to the supporting cast: Merrill; Fermin; Bogaerts; and O'Hearn who all performed well.
Pitching was as advertised and gave the Padres a chance to win every game ... if they did any scoring.
Every year is different so in 2026 that same group may hit better (and more their history) ... but think Preller has to focus on some offensive upgrades.

Side: Manny again had a poor post season ... his extensive post-season performances have also been poor ... don't know what to do about that as he is still a key to get to the post-season.

A disappointing end to a fun season. Who knows how it would have played out, but having such a brutal missed call like that in the playoffs is unacceptable. That doesn't excuse the poor offensive effort in the series. We needed a lot better from Tatis, Machado and others.

I bet Dodgers hitters also don't get every call their way, but still, they don't make excuses and their main hitters get the job done, Tatis and Machado have a lot to think about, If they care of course, which I think they do.

This series went the same way the whole season did, the outcome wasn't like a big surprise, dissapointing, sure, but you could see it coming.

Bases loaded, no outs, Croney's infield nubber, makes it 3-2, with runners on 3rd & 2nd and only 1 out. Fermin's flyout would have been deep enough to tag on, tying the game at 3, with Tatis up, 2 outs and a runner on 2nd. Doesn't guarantee we would have won, but it would have been at least tied, heading into the bottom of the 9th. If Tatis had come through with a hit, we could have won the game, because you know Shildt would have brought the hammer, Mason Miller in. What a screw job! Unbelievable! Ugh!
