2022 LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE STORM
Quote from Randy Manese on September 15, 2022, 11:53 pmJackson Merrill is a beast! Sitting in the stands, I wondered if the 66'ers would pitch to him with 1st base open. They did and he got behind in the count early but kept fouling off pitches until he lined one to RF that gave the Storm a 2 run lead going into the 9th. Storm pitching, a weakness all season, almost did them in but a gutsy performance by Castro nailed it down.

Merrill is awesome..just 19 too..playing like a 23 yr old vet...
How about Mr September Doersching absolutely high leverage post season mashing 2.054 OPS..
LE team has like 10 legit MLB caliber dudes in it.. and maybe more

Quote from Randy Manese on September 18, 2022, 4:44 pmCouldn't make the game today, but watched on MiLB TV. Storm brought the lumber with everyone but Robertson getting a hit and almost everyone in the line-up with an extra base hit. Merrill was again terrific and the pitching was much better. Have a chance for the champship this coming Tuesday with Lizarraga scheduled for possibly clinching the league championship win.

Quote from Randy Manese on September 20, 2022, 10:24 pmSTORM ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Lizarraga left in a little too long otherwise could have been a shutout. Offense did just enough with clutch two two-out run scoring hits by 6th round pick Marsee that produced big runs. Nice work by Snider after Lizarraga tired; a good mid-season find by the scouting staff from the Lake Country DockHounds in the American Association.
Wonderful job by the staff after losing so many players to Ft. Wayne and then having Samuel Zavala get hurt after the first playoff game.
