Also, Ramirez - Northcraft - Diaz not yet listed on the EP roster and I suspect if not yet listed .... not yet eligible to play for EP and lost in the twilight zone of alternate site designation in the unknown parts of El Paso.

Maybe the Padres kept them in SD just in case of the injuries to Lamet and Weathers ... or another arm ...necessitated a new IL move. Now that the Padres have moved on to SF, maybe they get placed.

COULD be holding him out as insurance for game 3 @ SF or game 1 @ Colorado (!) ... not exactly a soft landing, but Miguel Diaz can't be recalled for those games unless someone is injured.  But Paddack probably returns to make that start, so...

maybe just Maximize Gore's IP over course of year.... hopefully some in MLB.   Going 5th vs 1st from Opening Day might = 1 more start he can make in a Sept pennant race.

Not just a Gore comment but reaches to all the minor league pitchers ... given the injury uptick in the ML in the first month and the thought that a veteranML  SP going 150 innings maybe the target high after only going 50-60 innings last year .... maybe trying to maximize innings for the valued prospects who did not pitch at all in 2020 is not going to be their strategy. In AAA think they still will go 144 games (into mid/late Sept) so a SP going 5 innings will be will be will get near 140 if he goes every start ... might be too much. Expect them to skip some starts or limit starts to 3 inning stints at some point.

... maybe they are "taxi squad" traveling with the Pads for these 2 road series?   Work out/do bullpens with team.  It looked like AAA type 6th C  in ST Wynston Sawyer was listed as "Alt Site" too; so maybe those 4 go on road with Pads, work out together, do regular bullpens, etc?

Wouldn't it be funny if the "Alt site" was some hotel suite in El Paso with 3-4 guys just sitting around...  whoever reports & clarifies the esoteric details of this stuff deserves some kind of award.  I doubt even Preller & the other GM's understand it all
