Prospect Watch: El Paso’s offense was held to just two hits on Sunday. One of those two knocks belonged to Marcos Castanon, who went 1-for-4, swatting his 12th long ball of the season. While he walks at only a 6.5% clip, Castanon has posted strong batted ball data this season. Claiming a 104.1 90th percentile exit velocity, 111.6 max exit velocity, 41.9 percent hard rate, and 87% hard hit rate. The UC Santa Barbara product has also been lethal against left-handed pitching this season, slashing .281/.343/.563 with five homers. … Jake Cronenworth went hitless against Sugar Land pitching, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his third rehab start. On defense, the University of Michigan man was relatively untested, logging one put out on a pop-up in the seventh inning. After playing shortstop for the first seven innings, he’d eventually swing over to first base in the eighth…Starter Miguel Cienfuegos logged one of his best outings of the season on Sunday, allowing no runs, no hits, one walk, and punching out five in his three innings of work. The righty’s arsenal generated a 43 percent whiff rate, with five of his six swings and misses coming on his mid-80s slider. Cienfuegos’ season ERA sits at 8.19. … Andrew Moore was handed the ball in the seventh, and while he walked three, the right-hander worked an inning and two-thirds, allowing just one hit, no runs, and punching out four. His arsenal generated a 31% whiff rate, with five whiffs on 16 swings. Moore leaned heavily on his four-seamer, throwing it at a 55% clip with the pitch sitting at 97.1 mph for his outing and collecting two of his four punch-outs. No one can question the quality of his stuff or the arm talent of Moore; the question now and moving forward will continue to be: can he find enough command to be a viable big-league arm long term…

Prospect Watch: Eric Yost was by no means perfect on Sunday, but he still delivered a solid start. Working five innings, the right-hander allowed three runs on four hits, walked five, hit two, and punched out three. In total, his arsenal generated a 25.8% whiff rate (eight whiffs on 38 swings). In now 51 1/3 innings, working both as a starter and longer relief, Yost sports a 3.48 ERA. While he has shown the ability to generate swing-and-miss, his command still remains an issue. Yielding a 15.3% BB% and throwing only 59.1% of his pitches for strikes… After being optioned for scheduled rest, Bradgley Rodriguez returned to the hill and worked a clean eight innings, allowing no runs, no hits, walking none, and punching out one. To retire the side, Rodriguez needed just 10 total pitches. For the afternoon, the right-handers’ stuff tallied four total whiffs and a 57.1 percent whiff rate…Jake Cunningham was one of three players to receive a promotion to Double-A at the start of this week, and on Sunday, he swatted his first homer at the new level as part of his 2-for-5 day at the plate. The strikeouts were still there in his first week with San Antonio, as he punched out eight times. Still, he managed to slash .304/.304/.522 in his first five Double-A games… Braedon Karpathios turned in a 0-for-4 day at the plate against Arkansas, tallying three strikeouts. After running red hot for the last month and a half, the 23-year-old has gone cold again, hitting .188 with a .610 OPS and 13 strikeouts in his past 12 games.

Prospect Watch:Alex McCoy yet again led the way for the Fort Wayne offense, going 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and two strikeouts. For the 24-year-old, Sunday marked his 19th multi-hit game of the 2026 season. Despite a strong showing in the series finale, it was a slow week for McCoy, who went 5-for-22, striking out six times and failing to log an extra base hit. He owns a .702 OPS in June… Ryan Wideman ended his first week at High-A going 1-for-5 with a single, a pair of punch outs, and stole his fourth bag of the week. In his first week with Fort Wayne, Wideman slashed .250/.345/.250. While he failed to tally an extra base hit, he did walk four times against six strikeouts…Carlos Rodriguez turned in a 2-for-4 day at the dish. The 23-year-old backstop had struggled at the dish in June, hitting just .182 with a .611 OPS, and is whiffing at 38.1% clip and has only six extra-base hits in his last 35 games… The strongest outing of the day on the pitching side for Fort Wayne came from lefty Ryan Och. The rehabbing south paw worked an inning, allowing no runs, no hits, walking two, and striking out two. He  generated a pair of whiffs and lowered his ERA to 0.77 in 11.2 IP in High-A.

Prospect Watch: After struggling at High-A for nearly a year and a half, Isaiah Lowe was unceremoniously demoted back to Single-A Lake Elsinore. Returning to a starter role, Lowe struggled against lesser hitters, allowing four runs on four hits, walking four, and striking out two. The right-hander continued to have trouble generating swings and misses, posting just a 21.3% whiff rate for his start. Offensively, Lake Elsinore was led by undrafted free agent Bradley Frye, who went 3-for-4 with three singles, an RBI, and two runs scored. The 23-year-old is hitting .273 with a .738 OPS this season. …Truitt Maonna’s sluggish June continued in the series finale vs. Fresno, as the last year’s 11th-round selection went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout. In 17 games played in June, Madonna is slashing .197/.310/.279 with 21 strikeouts. His 31.0% whiff rate and 27.2% chase rate in June aren’t awful, but he is still struggling to make regular contact in the zone… Right-hander Luis Maracara arrived in Lake Elsinore on Sunday morning; an hour later, he delivered a strong inning of relief, tossing a scoreless eighth inning and striking out two. In total, his pitch mix tallied a 28.7% whiff rate. One of the18-year-old’ss strikeout victims was Rockies No. 3 prospect Roldy Brito, whom he retired on three pitches.
