Prospect Watch: El Paso clubbed a pair of homers and stole four bases in a victory in Summerlin. … Dustin Harris had his best time since joining the Padres organization last week, as he singled four times. Harris got some blessing from the BABIP gods, as two of them were bloop singles, and all four of his hits had an exit velocity below 90 mph. In five games with El Paso, the former Rangers outfielder is hitting .316 but has yet to connect on an extra-base hit. … Former big leaguer Nick Solak had a nice night, capped by connecting on his 12th homer of the year – a two-run shot in the fifth inning. He also added a triple that traveled nearly 400 feet. The well-traveled veteran had a brief stint with the Padres earlier this season and gives the organization a utility player with a bit of pop. Solak hit 14 homers last year in Triple-A with the Pirates’ organization and hit 27 in 2019 while playing in Triple-A in the Rangers and Rays systems. … Sean Boyle braved the hitter-friendly conditions in Vegas and gutted out 4.2 innings before turning things over to the bullpen. He allowed three runs on six hits, walking one and striking out four. The veteran righty has bounced back and forth between the rotation and bullpen. In 75 innings, he’s pitched to a 5.76 ERA. … Righty Jeremiah Estrada made a rehab appearance for El Paso on Tuesday and showed good velocity on his fastball but struggled to command the strike zone. Estrada turned just seven of his 19 pitches into strikes. He walked two and allowed a hit while recording just one out before departing. His heater sat at 96 mph and topped out at 97.9 – up a tick from his season-average of 95.8 mph with the Padres. 

Roster Moves: In addition to Estrada’s new rehab location, lefty Jagger Haynes moved up to Triple-A. He will get his first taste of PCL action with the start on Friday. Catcher Victor Duarte was transferred to the development list in a corresponding move.

Prospect Watch: The Missions scored four runs in the fourth inning and held on to defeat the RoughRiders at home. … Ethan Salas had a productive night at the plate, delivering a single, a double, a walk, and a pair of runs batted in. The 20-year-old top prospect hasn’t had his home run stroke since coming off the injured list, but he’s been productive nonetheless. He’s hitting .333/.386/.410 in July. He has not homered since May 26, a span of 28 games played. … Francisco Acuña connected on his fifth homer of the season in the win. He also drew a walk and stole his tenth base of the season. The 26-year-old had a very productive season for the Missions last year, posting a 112 wRC+ before earning a late-season promotion to El Paso, where he continued to hit well in a small sample. This year, Acuña has taken a step backward offensively. While his walk rate has climbed to nearly 15%, he’s seen a rise in his K rate from 21% to 24%. Thanks to his robust walk rate, he has a wRC+ of 91, despite a slugging percentage of .335. … Eric Yost started and tossed four innings before departing. He allowed two runs on four hits, walking one and striking out four. Yost’s outing was a bit inefficient; he threw 76 pitches in his four innings of work. The 23-year-old went 11 days between outings, thanks to the All-Star break. He has a 3.41 ERA in 15 games (10 starts) this season.

Roster Moves: Lefty Igor Gil was promoted from Fort Wayne to San Antonio, taking the bullpen spot of Ryan Och, who was placed on the injured list. Righty Matthew Watson was activated from the development list as well. 

TinCaps 7, Lake County Captains 6

Prospect Watch: The TinCaps overcame an early 6-0 deficit to score the game’s final seven runs to steal a victory at home over Lake County, in front of a crowd of over 6,000. … The winning hit came off the bat of Alex McCoy, whose walk-off single was part of a multi-hit game. The 24-year-old also had his league-leading 24th double of the year. Overall, the former undrafted free agent has an .811 OPS for the Caps, but he has just eight extra-base hits and a .331 slugging percentage since the start of June. … Ryan Wideman tied the game with an RBI single as part of a two-hit night. The 22-year-old had an .840 OPS in his time with the Storm, but the hits haven’t come as easily in the Midwest League. Wideman has just two extra-base hits in 91 plate appearances with Fort Wayne, and his K rate has increased to 26% in his brief time with the TinCaps. Wideman will still have a full month to break out in the Summit City. … Jack Costello popped his 11th homer of the season as part of a multi-hit effort. Costello was ejected in the ninth inning for arguing balls and strikes. The former USD infielder set a new career-high in homers after hitting 10 last year for Fort Wayne. He has a .760 OPS in 77 games. … Kannon Kemp struggled in his third start with the TinCaps, lasting just 2.1 innings. Kemp allowed three runs on three hits, walking two and striking out a pair. Kemp began the year on the 60-day injured list with a left oblique injury. He threw 48 pitches Tuesday, 30 for strikes. He has a 7.11 ERA in three starts. 

Roster Moves: Righty José Leclerc had his rehab assignment transferred from the complex to Fort Wayne. 

Storm 8, Visalia Rawhide 7

Prospect Watch: The Storm scored five runs in the seventh inning and added two more in the eighth to overcome a five-run deficit and defeat Visalia at The Diamond. … Second baseman Yimy Tovar had a pair of hits and drove in four runs, including the winning runs with a two-run single in the eighth. The 20-year-old infielder has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, including three straight. Tovar hit just .121 in June with the Storm, but he’s up to .259 this month. … Qrey Lott reached base three times with a pair of singles and a walk. The 21-year-old has shaken off a poor June and has been red-hot in July. Lott’s multi-hit game raised his slash line this month to .353/.542/.529 to raise his overall slash-line to an impressive .283/.402/.428 with Lake Elsinore. … Dawson Willis had a single, walk, and reached on a hit-by-pitch out of the leadoff spot and swiped three bases before giving way for the final inning. The undrafted free agent has slugged .500 and converted on all 12 stolen base attempts in 26 games with the Storm. … Jesus Castro kept Visalia off the scoreboard for four innings, despite struggling to throw strikes. He walked five batters and struck out five as well. The walks were completely uncharacteristic; Castro walked two batters or fewer in 14 of his 15 outings coming into Tuesday. The undersized 19-year-old righty, has a 3.68 ERA in 2026. … Twenty-year-old Yoesmerli Beltre came out of the bullpen and earned his first win as a member of the Storm. Beltre tossed 2.1 innings without allowing a baserunner. He struck out one and generated four groundouts. The righty made his domestic debut this summer in the ACL before earning a promotion to Lake Elsinore. In six outings, spanning 7.2 innings with Lake Elsinore, Beltre has a 3.52 ERA. 

ACL Padres 8, ACL Royals 2 (7 innings)

Prospect Watch: The ACL Padres took care of business in the desert to ensure all five domestic affiliates won. … Ty Harvey had a pair of hits, including a three-run homer in the win. Harvey also drew a walk and drove in four runs. Harvey started at designated hitter on Tuesday after seeing time behind the plate on Monday. He is 5-for-12 on his current rehab stint and could join the Storm by the end of the week, since ACL play wraps on Thursday. … Luis De Leon reached base twice with a single and a walk. He also added his 14th stolen base of the season. De Leon, 20, has played 126 games in the ACL over the last three years. As the Padres’ draft class signs, De Leon could be one of the players purged for a roster spot. He’s produced a .743 OPS, which is much lower than the .778 mark he posted last season. … Lefty Jeronimo Palmeros tossed a season-high four innings and allowed a pair of runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out four. The 19-year-old from Veracruz, Mexico, has a 5.03 ERA.
