What's his deal? Is he hurt? Hasn't played in a while

He's apparently injured, but we've been unable to track down details. Sounds like it's a relatively minor issue and he should be back shortly.

Doesn't seem to be all that minor if he hasn't played in over a week, but hoping for the best. His skillset makes for an exciting watch. Believe in the bat/speed combo.

Xavier Edwards played his first full game as he continues his return from a wrist injury. After giving way to a replacement midway through his first two contests back, the Padres’ second pick in June drew a walk and stole his ninth base. He has yet to get back on the field defensively, but is on a path back toward full activity.

Rotographs updated our top 10 and X is at #8. One thing I don't get is that Mejia isn't listed and this was put out yesterday. Must have been written several days ago. Also, don't agree with Quantril being so high
8. Xavier Edwards | SS | R —> The Padres’ second selection in the 2018 draft, Edwards is an electric player with plus-plus speed and an advanced feel for the bat at the age of 18. He got off to a strong start in pro ball — .423 average, 6-4 BB-K, 6 steals in 7 tries — but suffered a wrist injury (severity undisclosed) and hasn’t played since late June. He’ll never be a home run hitter but this switch-hitter could be a top-of-the-order threat and a plus up-the-middle defender.

From today's Daily ...
Xavier Edwards is on track to finish his first professional campaign with an on-base percentage above .450 across two levels. The 19-year-old shortstop has continued to walk more than he’s struck out in Tri-City and has swiped 22 bases in 23 attempts.

padres system very deep of course, makes it easy to overlook some guys who would get more press in a thinner system. With that in mind, do not ignore Xavier Edwards, 19 year old infielder with speed and high OBP, could be excellent leadoff guy
