The Padres are riding high after taking the series from the Royals on a walk off win anf winning more than one game in a row. Now thay face the Nationals and two of their toughest hitters LF James Wood and former Padre C.J. Abrams as well as former Padre LHSP Gore.

It it good to see Merrill back and to see Bogaerts finally hitting. I hope he keeps it up. Sheets has been a pleasant surprise and he may be our answer to LF.

Top NL West games: Dodgers(48-31)at Rockies(18-60), Giants(44-34) host Marlins(31-45), Dbacks(39-38) at White Sox(25-53)
The Dodgers and the Rockies is such a lopside matchup. Then again, they are playing in Colorado. So, you never know.

There is no reason in the world the Padres should not win at least 2 games. A sweep would be sweet.

GO PADRES!

Somehow I feel Wood is gonna smack our pitching around.

"Somehow I feel Wood is gonna smack our pitching around."

Quite likely la verdad...Wood is a certifiable STUD...he'd look kind of nice patrolling left field at Petco right about now...

Game 1 Lineup
1. Tatis RF
2. Merrill CF
3. Machado 3B
4. Arraez DH
5. Bogaerts  SS
6. Sheets LF
7. Iglesias 2B
8. Cronenworth 1B
9. Díaz C

Kolek P

A stupid error leads to a 4 run inning, there was no need to rush that throw.

Bogaerts might have just have just hit the shortest ground out in the history of MLB, about 2.5". Nice!!

The only pitcher that did not give up any runs is Hoeing. Welcome back Bryan Hoeing. I wish Schildt had kept him in another inning.

The Padres need to take the next two.

GO PADRES!

I think it is very clear that Kolek is the one to be optioned to Triple A El Paso when Davish returns.

Game 2 Lineup
1. Tatis RF
2. Merrill CF
3. Machado 3B
4. Arraez 1B
5. Sheets LF
6. Bogaerts  DH
7. Cronenworth 2B

Bergert P

The Padres take game 2.
The bottom half of the lineup scored all 4 runs.

Outstanding pitching by the BP and Suarez earns his 22nd save.
I hope Bergert is alright.

Pivetta on the mound tomorrow for the rubber match

GO PADRES!
