Very Sad

I guess nobody has anything to say about the Padres.....it's always the same 7 or 8 people and the "Minor League" discussion has more comments than the Pro Club.....I thought for sure the Padres had fans here in San Diego that actually got involved on blogs or forums to voice opinions....good or bad.

I guess people are just to busy.

After stinking for this many years, I think we have talk about the bad more than enough, a lot of us are just waiting for the good stuff to happen (hope it does, still dont see it in the near future), to be fair if the chargers were still in SD a would be just scoreboard watching the Padres, but since that is no longer an option I pay attention to the game until is out of reach, ie tonight

Us not discussing the Padres or the Minors enough on here is not sad. This story is sad, WTF is wrong with people today?

I understand where you are coming from. It feels to me like this is a really closed community due to needing to be a member. When they switched over affiliations a couple times over the years the site lost diversity of posters/input.

There are benefits though. For anyone who has been around a while here, remember TommyHansen5000?  This has been a troll free zone for a while now. "Which is nice."

That said, if you want to see more conversation, post.  The lack of August trade discussion is partly to blame too.

(Not thrilled with the title of this thread)

I haven’t been able to post much this season due to work and family issues, but this site is by far the BEST place for intelligent conversation/debate and information on the Padres and the minor  league pipeline. The community is small and I don’t agree with every persons take, but Madfriars is head and shoulders above other Padre fan communities in terms of knowledge of the game and players. There’s way  too many bozos on Twitter, Reddit and Facebook who don’t seem to understand the basics of baseball or even the recent history of this franchise.  As a die hard fan, I really value what this site and its posters bring to the table.  Thank you and I promise to be back to posting more this fall with more of my dumb takes like “Phil Maton can be an elite reliever.”

I have been a Friars fan since I was a kid. Unfortunately I lost hope after '95. When a team's slogan is "keep the faith", they are telling you that they were not competing at that time but they still wanted your money. New ownership, and actually spending money for the first time in memory has renewed my faith. I am a die hard however. Most people will need this rebuild to actually start producing results to return to the fold. The average fan probably doesn't realize how bright the future can be.

You should have started a POSITIVE thread ..like #2020playoffs what do we need to make it.. This thread just adds negativity ..Sad! 😆

Glad to have you here Jason!

We need more Padre fans such as yourself to sign up here and join in the conversation!

What do we need to make the 2020 playoffs? We need Will Myers to produce like he used to. We need him to be a big bat, a big threat in our lineup. That and a centerfielder who can hit. The rest of the lineup is set. It, like the entire pitching staff, have all the talent they could need. They just need some experience. They will continue to get better and better for the next 2 to 3 years or so. Most of our guys just got here. All they need is time.

Oh, and like every other team in baseball, we could use another reliable reliever or two.
