Fangraphs just dropped its 2024 Top 100 … Padre prospects (if I got it correct):
#5. Salas
#30. Merrill (bit lower than most lists)
#38. De Vries (bold placement for never having played stateside)
#61. Iriate (bit higher than most lists)
#73. Thorpe (we “underestimating” this trade add?)
#76. Lesko
Did not see Snelling who lands on most Top 100 lists … not sure what they do not like in him.

Fangraphs also didn't put Snelling on their list of Padres prospects who can help them in the immediate future and still hasn't published the Padres Top 30 or more for this year.
If you go over to the Zips 2024 projection, which is explained as more data-driven than scouting report driven, you get:

#41. Lesko
#58. Snelling
#63. Salas
#71. Thorpe
#99. Jagger Haynes!
The biggest differences are in the Snelling/Salas ratings, who both happen to be the youngest on the lists. I'm wary of putting Salas so high with so few reps in the minors but also feel Fangraphs underestimated the competitive drive of Snelling which will allow him to develop at least to the #58 rating next year and maybe higher.

Looking at the new Pipeline list … no major shocks.
4 dropped off the final 2023 list: Verdugo (21); Hawkins (23); Reynolds (27); Cedeno (30)
2 notable drops: Valenzuela (10 to 20) and King (20 to 29) … not surprising on Valenzuela given his lack of hitting and on King given his minimal work in rookie ball.
4 added: DeVries (6); Nett (25); Paplham (26); Kemp (30)
1 notable rise: Bergert (18 to 13)
the rest is just minor shuffling.
Maybe could make a case for some others to sneak into the bottom of this list but not sure who I would drop … so I guess that is even better for the future since the bottom of the list is not littered with older filler as often happens with system lacking depth.

Bergert has definitely grabbed my attention a bit this spring. I'd love to see what he can do sometime this season.
