Tonight's the night Paddack gets back on track.

He needs a 6 inning...1-2 run.....7 strikeout game and get the win.

The Mariners come in winners of three in a row and the AL ROY front runner in Kyle Lewis.

This kid looks legit and is doing a great Mookie Betts impersonation.

They don't really have much else so as Lewis goes so goes the Mariners i think.

You don't pitch around a rookie....but then again, you don't let their only threat beat you either.

Besides Lewis, biggest contributors have been Seager and Nola.  Lot of new pieces recently added, so don't really know how real that winning streak is.  Also, actually played the Dodgers tough in their home and home series  winning one and with only one of the losses by more than 2 runs.  I'm thinking the Padres' pitching has got to be better than they saw against Texas, so I'm hopeful we continue our good approach at the plate and win these, one at a time, before we head on the road trip.  Go Padres!

The remaining games with the NL West will be critical.

All else is gravy.

Not a great start for Paddock, hope he can bear down and not kill the bullpen.

Paddock doesn't look  quite right, not hurt just not normal

Nice job hoss, keep  chipping away.  Need Paddock to settle down. Stats show he pitches much better after 2nd inning.

Not that concerned about the loss, but getting more and more concerned about Paddack.  Doesn't seem to have either the velocity or the location he had last year; also, seems to not have the same intensity driving him.  Manny looked very good again and Baez pitched well for two innings, but most of the team seemed to have not come back from the day off.  Let's crank it up tomorrow!

Go Padres!

Listened to the commentary on TV about Paddack’s struggles. They covered a lot of possibilities.

From my eyes ... command is the #1 issue as he is missing spots with his FB by a lot and often. Few pitches on the corner ... either way off the plate or worse down the middle.

Also think the opposition sees a FB/CH pitcher and has adjusted to sit on one or the other ... don’t have to worry about the curve with Paddack rarely uses. Hitters are not swinging at pitches outside the zone as much ... down from 34.9% to 28.5%.

As for his FB ... per Fangraphs ... he is throwing harder with the FB at 94.4 up from last year’s 93.9.

Another issue is the speculation (?) by the broadcast team that Paddack MAY BE tipping his pitches. That seems to come out of nowhere ... wonder if that thinking is a product of some behind this scenes discussions / observations?

His Change up still appeared effective as an out pitch but they may be laying off it early in the count and sitting on the FB.

It could be he just needs to adjust his approach more than anything.

If they aren't gonna swing at the change until they get 2 strikes he just needs to rethink pitch selection strategy.

If he throws it early in the count he needs to throw it for a strike.

Game has been postponed!

Really?

What will this accomplish?

Playing a double header instead of tonight does what exactly?

I remember growing up as a kid, and really admiring your country, baseball has a lot to do with it, but also there was that feeling that at the moment that you crossed the border some things that happen in México would never happen at the States, I know  that I am not entitled to an opinion, because I am not an US Citizen, I have never lived there, so, I dont really know the situation, just what I hear or watch on TV, o read online, but, with all due respect it really looks like a mess all around, first you have the racial injustice, then you have what people call racial injustice but it is not, then you have the measures that people take to protest against racial injustice that some think are adequate and some other think are not (ie the kneeling inf front of your flag), and finally you have the measures (like this one) that really don't make any sense, like Mr P says, Do they really think that by not playing a game, somebody with decision making faculties is gonna say "ok, enough is enough, we need baseball so, you cops stop shooting african americans because of racial  motives, or there will be consecuences!" like I said, I shouldn't even say anything, because it doesn't concern me, but sometimes you there are things that just leave you scratching your head
