SD ASG Representative

As we enter June, the talk about the ASG has started. We know by rule, at least 1 player from SD is going to be an All Star. However, I have two questions this year.

1. Who do you think is going to be the SD representative?

2. Do you truly believe that SD might have two candidates that are ASG worthy this season.

1. SD All Star - Hand

2. Deserves consideration, Ross. And maybe CV and Hosmer.

It sure will be nice when this isn't a legitimate question each year.......

Certainly before too long we will have several deserving players and the question will become ...”how many” we have and not who will be our sole representative.

It will be Hand and Hand only. Villanueva doesn't warrant any consideration. Hosmer's position is just so crowded in the NL, even with certain guys having down seasons like Goldschmidt. I would think Stammen or Yates would be worthwhile, although you don't see a ton of relievers generally.

The only reason I added CV as a maybe is because he does lead all 3B in HRs and is 4th in RBI, just one RBI behind the 2 guys in 2nd. And yes, we know he is a butcher defensively at 3B but most casual fans are looking at HRs and RBIs. And while is BA and OBP are not great either, he is still top 10 in both for Qualified 3B. So as much as most on here are not fans of CV, his bat does deserve some consideration.

Also if you take away that weird outlying 0-33 stretch he's a .290 hitter.
