LHP Robbie Ray(9-6, 2.98 ERA, 152 K, .208 BAA) vs LHP Nestor Cortes(1-1, 5.71 ERA, 17 K, .265 BAA)Tuesday, August 19 - 6:40pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
RHP Kai-Wei Teng(1-2, 9.90 ERA, 8 K, .289 BAA) vs RHP Nick Pivetta(12-4, 2.87 ERA, 144 K, .192 BAA)Wednesdy, August 20 - 6:40pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
RHP Landen Roupp(7-6, 3.45 ERA, 100 K, .263 BAA) vs LHP JP Sears(7-10, 5.12 ERA, 101 K, .267 BAA)Thurdsay, August 21 - 1:10pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
RHP Justin Verlander(1-9, 4.23 ERA, 95 K, .273 BAA) vs RHP Dylan Cease (5-11, 4.61 ERA, 171 K, .235 BAA)The Padres are coming off an ugly series being swept by the Dodgers, dropping them two games back. But the NL West Title still is within reach. So, let's shake off the bad weekend as the Padres head back home, where they have played better than on the road, to face the Giants for the last time this season and then they are in their rearview mirror. However, the Giants do play the Dodgers 7 games in September. This time they will miss Webb.
While the Padres are playing the Giants, the Dodgers, who have not played well on the road, head to Colorado for 4-games. Despite having the worst record and being the owrst team in MLB, the Rockies can still be tough. They have won 5 of their last 6 games taking 2 of 3 from the Cardinals and just sweeping the Dbacks in Colorado. this is baseball anything can happen. So, I am hoping the Rockies will beat Dodgers.
The Padres need to get back to winning.
GO PADRES!

Quote from Jeremy Hill on August 18, 2025, 11:01 amI think we might see a little lineup shakeup with a tough lefty on the mound for the Giants tonight. Shildt had high praise for Laureano after the game last night and suggested that he was at least considering moving him up.

Quote from MrPadre19 on August 18, 2025, 1:43 pmIf Arraez doesn't start taking walks when they give them to him he needs to be lower in the lineup.
So frustrating watching him foul off ball 3 and then ball 4 and then pop out.

Quote from ultratvfan on August 18, 2025, 9:25 pmTough loss. At least the Dodgers lost, too. The Padres remain 2 back. Cubs lost, too.
Cortes did not look good in the first inning. But settles down and was solid the rest of the way. Bogaerts was robbed.
Lets win tomorrow.

Should we add Cortes to the list of pitchers that surrender a 4 spot but pitch 4 or 5 innings where they somehow settled in afterwards, Cease, Darvish, Vazquez have had that issue very frequently.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on August 18, 2025, 10:21 pmI was at the game. Even the Giants fans were admitting that it was a HR. It's ridiculous that some idiot in New York gets to make that call.
