The kid and the team are on an unbelievable run. It's a lot of fun to be a Padres fan right now.

Darn. Both the Dbacks and Dodgers won. Skenes could not stop them.

I know, the Dbacks kicked some Phillies as... tonight, the Giants also won, I know they have 2 teams in front of them, but there is an outside chance that 4 teams from our division get in, how cool would that be?

We need the dominant Cease to show up against Miami on Sunday and the Padres offense to crank it up early and often. High leverage BP arms likely not available after extensive use the last 2 days so hoping this is the scenario for a happy plane ride home. Go Padres!

In the first 10 days of August, Merrill has a .393 AVG, .441 OBP, .964 SLG and 1.405 OPS.

Wow even when the comeback streak ends it's dramatic. I don't think I've ever seen a ground rule double like that. Still a helluva effort to fight to the very end after going down big early.

Cease was not good today--at least in the first two innings. So close a HR and comeback.
On the upside the Padres won the series, have a 16-4 record and two 7-game win streaks since the AS break. Tomorrow, the Padres will start a new streak with Musgrove on the mound.
Let's hope the Dodgers and Dbacks lose.

Well, both the Dodgers and Dbacks won. Padres drop to 3.5 games behind and the Dbacks are in a second place tie with the Padres.
