Prospects to Champion

PreviousPage 3 of 3

Podorsky with a 5 hit night last night.

We really need to find room at LE for him.

Better late than never, but we didn't pick our prospects this season.... I'll start:

Pitcher:  Mason Thompson

Position:  Grant Little

Pitcher:Joey Cantillo

Position:Robbie Podorsky

Im sticking with my guy until he stops hitting .325+ and swiping bags left and right.

Also.....in Cantillo, guy’s only 19 and for his career to this point he has 77 K’s in only 57 ip with only 42 hits allowed yet is totally lost amongst all these prospects in the system.

I like the underdogs......:)

I took Cantillo last year and was very happy with my pick.  Hope he does even better for you this year!  haha

If not Podorsky I would take Agustin Ruiz.

This kid looks like he will be a Padre top 10 prospect in no time.

Mine are

Position: Esteury Ruiz

Pitcher: Hansel Rodriguez

From today's DFR ...

Nearly five years ago, the Padres traded three big league pitchers in what has become known as “the Matt Strahm trade.” Esteury Ruiz, who connected on his sixth homer in another multi-hit game, is working to change how people remember that trade. The now 23-year-old has been unstoppable in Double-A, hitting .400/.550/.683 on the season to lead the league in OBP and rank second in both average and OPS. He also leads the league with 12 stolen bases, and is second with 15 walks. You name it and Ruiz is doing it, all while playing full-time in center field. While 10 percent of a season is still a small a sample size, Ruiz’s is already over halfway to his season walk total from last year (28). Ruiz has always been a dynamic hitter, but he is now showing a better approach at working the count and waiting for his pitch. It’s hard not to be excited about his success thus far.

And Esteury Ruiz is getting national buzz ...

This "10" list includes RH3 ... with Esteury mentioned as "Under-the-Radar Prospects off to Impressive Starts" 🙂
