Quote from BoosterSD on July 25, 2022, 8:14 amThis is a team, we need to take care of, no let down. In reality, a sweep is the only real acceptable outcome for this series. Even 2-1 would seem like a disappointment IMO.

Quote from fenn68 on July 25, 2022, 8:49 amWinning 3 vs the Tigers is certainly possible … and needed.
The saving grace with yesterday’s loss is the other WC contenders also lost: ATL; STL; PHIL; SF … so no loss of positioning. Actually with one less game in the season … sort of improves the Padres chances … microscopically

Need to take care of business today... look at Phillies sweept by Cubs..and StLouis lost series to Reds over the weekend..Padres need to do what they've done vs lesser teams DOMINATE the Tigers

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 25, 2022, 11:08 amI'm not going to get my hopes up for a sweep...its MLB where anyone can beat anyone on any given day.
I can be happy with a Series win each and every time.
We win every series we are playoff bound.
What I will get my hopes up for is Nando back and 100% healthy SOON and Preller making 1 or 2 "helpful" moves.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on July 25, 2022, 1:08 pmThe Tigers are last in the league in Rs, HRs, and RBIs. They're second to last in OPS just ahead of the A's. I think Skubal is the only starter left healthy from their original starting 5 and Meadows is out. Having said all that they do have a handful of guys who hit lefties well and a good bullpen. They can't be overlooked.

Quote from fenn68 on July 25, 2022, 2:06 pmRHP for Detroit … Grisham back in CF (must be OK) but Kim at SS … Abrams’ sore bicep must be lingering.
IF Myers is coming off the IL this week … might we see Abrams on the IL? Keeps Batten up as INF insurance.
For the conspiracy theory folks … Abrams being held out to avoid injury prior to being dealt at the deadline.
