Padres vs the Dodgers Game Thread

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Mitchell is a hot mess but what the heck....the Pads got a W tonight so there's that

What happened to Walker Lockett? Didn't he get brought up at the end of last year? Would he not be a viable option to replace Mitchell?

Lauer showed improvement , he may be around for a while. I don't get to see many games but watching the last 2 games I don't se how anyone ever gets a hit off of Hand. 7 batters faced 1 hit 6 Ks. Green has to pitch him every 3 days no matter what. Hand looks awful when he doesn't pitch for a week. Also Hosmer has taken over the leadership role and has looked very good lately, he mades 2 nice plays on bad throws from Villanueva . Bring up another pitcher for Mitchell, even Perdomo would be an improvement.

Mitchell will be in the bullpen soon for mop up duty.  Haven't seen Lyles in a game in a bit.

So the Pads will come home with at least a 5-5 record for this road trip

Hopefully they can get the last game today and win the series with the Dodgers

Whats are the positive trends and negative trends coming out of this 10 gamer on the road ?

Villanueva has found his bat again. And apparently still not sure what he’s doing defensively.

Clayton is giving us a chance to win every 5 days, as is Tyson. And Lauer looks to be gaining confidence?

Other than that.......

I know the stat line was not great and he had a rough 4th inning; however, I thought that was a great outing by Perdomo yesterday. He went 7 IP and except for the 4th, would have only given up 1 run. Saved the bullpen, hopefully a sign of progress for Perdomo.

Offense, ugggh. I know it was Kershaw, still not a lot of action from SD batters. And Myers, somebody needs to shoot him in the arse with a BB gun until he starts running out of the box on every hit. I am really starting to hate the way he stands and admires everyone of his warning track shots. What a goof ball he is turning out to be IMO.

Lauer looked great last night.  His fastball upticked to about 94/95mph and up in the zone and they couldn't really touch it.  Loved watching Kemp k three times.  Hopefully Lauer can keep that kind of velocity up.
