I do like those pitching match ups, especially as the Rockies are pitching this same TBD guy every game 😉

Yes, depending on what the teams in front of us do. We sweep and they go 0-3 or 1-2, then we gain two games, and we are three games± out of the last wild card spot with 9 games to play.
In all honesty, if SD really needs to go 10-2 in the final 12 games to possibly sniff that spot though, so I doubt it could happen.

The way they've played all season long doesn’t lend itself to a 10-2 run. But this is baseball....
I really do hope they finally go on a tear, just to get a glimpse of what's possible for next year ( I hold zero hope that Seidler cans AJ or that AJ trades Kim or Soto- our 2 best chips).

With 12 games left, this team could easily get our silly hopes up by the end of the next series. The Rockies and the 2023 Cards are imminently beatable teams, even for a Padres squad rolling out Matt Waldren/Nick Martinez/Pedro Avila for 2 of every 5 games. We then play a Giants team who a) can't score runs, and b) we need to pass anyway, before closing out the season against a terrible White Sox team.
Look, this team has earned zero faith and trust from us this year. NOTHING has gone our way, at any level, at any point since Game 1.
HOWEVER....
If we were ever hoping to put together a miracle hot streak, I'm not sure we could have scheduled a more ideal set of teams to attempt it against.

If nothing else I hope we knock the Giants out of the Wild Card.
It's always good to ruin a Division rivals season when possible.
