Lets Go!

Considering the issues with Joe and Yu I'm glad we aren't starting the season with the dodgers.

I swear if we just walked Blackmon in every at bat he’s ever had against us we would have been better off.

Snell at 57 pitches to get 6 outs so far.

First half Snell is back!

🙄

Yeah, way to kill the bull pen the first game Smellzilla.

Except for Bogaerts, a very disappointing effort by SD. Nothing from Soto at the plate, and an even worse effort on the fly ball in the 6th inning. One mediocre single from Machado. Crone looked lost. And Smellzilla was not very good. And the whole team showed very little energy IMO.

Do better tomorrow SD.

Oh well. Last year's opener was rough too. The season still turned out alright. I think we can officially add Cron to the list of Padres killers. Tomorrow's a new day.

I wanted Honeywell in rather than Nabil ...

I'm going to give Soto the benefit of the doubt on that lack of effort on the flyball in the 6th.

May not still be 100% due to leg issue....plus wet grass....plus 1st game of the season...plus first game in LF at Petco.

But that looked like a lazy lack of effort for sure.

Soto was not considered a good defensive OF at any point … despite the bizarre choice of him as a gold glove finalist last season. On that fly ball he looked more lost on the trajectory than anything else.

Only one game but Soto … at bat … looked like the Soto of 2022 … weak ground balls to 2B and K. For me, Soto is about hitting … so?
