Looks like the old Petco curse is back.

Home  21 games   67 runs    3.15 per game

Away   24 games   127 runs    5.29 per game

Combo of team running cold and humidor keeping the balls "wet" in a Stadium next to a Bay (which already is wet)... once July/August comes I expect this team to #1 be hitting better 1-9 and 2 for the dryer air to produce more distance on balls... Team is hitting a bunch of singles all over the place but not slugging much sans 1 or 2 guys at a time... Tatis will definetely affect this and teams won't be able to pitch around Manny like they been doing

I’m starting to worry we may not see Tatis until closer to August than June.

Considering he is not swing the bat yet … three hurdles: 1) get clearance to swing the bat; 2) time swinging the bat to the point of no paid / impingement); 3) get timing down to be effective hitting in the ML.

Put all those together and may not see a “productive” Tatis until (into) August.

He is young so should heal quickly and has enough natural talent to get into game shape / timing back comparatively quickly … but this is already the end of May and August is only 5 weeks away.

I thought for sure there were 4 weeks in a month....how do you get 5 weeks until August ?

Technically 4.25 weeks a month so every few months a 5th week sneaks in lol But yeah August is 9 weeks away

Position players rehab assigments are for a Max 20 days.. so assuming Tatis is clear to swing bat by June 10th (2 weeks from now) he goes down on the 14th ..likely plays 5to 10 Games 30-40ABS.. and he is ready..I am calling it right now... He comes back for the final series of June just in time for the LAD series

Forgot about July!

It will be interesting to see if Tatis actually goes on a 20 day rehab … not sure the team or Tatis is really interested in that … rather just work with the MLB team and maybe some work in AZ and then maybe a quick stint in LE.

Would expect a gap between when he can start swinging a bat and when he is really start playing and swinging in game mode. Then if in July we have the All-Star break and Tatis is not quite up to productive game speed … might lag his return until post-All Star.

Maybe just cautious, but not ready to believe that if he returns quickly he will be as productive as the Tatis of 2021. So, still on August before we see the productive Tatis … even if he is back earlier.

Lmao….forgot about July….that right there is funny 😄

that’s like forgetting Christmas and December

I'll take a one legged 1/2 blind Tatis right about now...lol

All kidding aside ..Tyler Naquin (can play CF and both COF spots with his arm) might be a good fit as early as in a couple weeks...won't cost more than a mid tier spec...think Max Ferguson (LE)... thoughts?

CB Bucknor up to his old tricks.....he's already missed on a dozen pitches and we're just starting the 4th....

Never had a doubt …🙄

Bryan Reynolds does not seem to be impressing the Padres in this series …2 for 11 with 4 K and some bad swings.

Pirates may have over played their hand on trading him … ask for the moon based on 2021 and in 2022 he collapses and hits as he did in 2020. Not sure teams (including the Padres) will be hot on his trail at the deadline unless he really gets hot … and still the price will be lower.

Profar makes that catch, we dodge this 2 run bullett.....ugh....
