Last series before the break. Both teams have had similarly disappointing seasons and come in with identical records. Both teams have also been better in their last handful of games. The Mets have won 5 in a row and the Padres have won 4 of 5 and are coming off their first 3 game sweep. This feels like a big series for both teams.

Big difference here between 2-1 and 1-2 in this series.
We "have" to win at least 2
Win one against the two Hall of Famers and win the middle game against Peterson.

If we miss the playoffs we can blame extra innings for the biggest reason. 12 -5 last year and 0-7 this year

It is pretty remarkable how the wheels seem to fall off every time we end up in extras. They had their chances to win it before it got to that point though. The Sanchez double play after Cronenworth's bunt loaded the bases and Kim getting baited by Pham really hurt.
