Padres vs Marlins Game Thread

That was just ugly on so many levels.....Lauer was not good.....Villanueva is not a 3B........Mitchell is just flat out BAD
7-2 loss to the Marlins....Yikes
The starting outfield today was hitting
Renfro - .192
Reyes - .188
Szczur - .218
The Bright spots......Robbie Erlin came on the relieve Lauer and threw 5 plus scoreless innings and Reyes got a Knock
Not the way to start a home stand but tomorrow is another day

I'm not really an Andy Green hater (I think he's fine), but that double switch was perplexing and unnecessary.

I was curious to see if Franmil Reyes would mash at this level and while he isn't hitting for much average I can honestly say that when he smoked that BOMB of a home run last night it took the air out of the stadium. I was sitting on the 1st base side and when he hit it the question wasn't if it was going out but how many seats it was going to destroy 🙂
Very Serious Power for Franmil....448 ft and if the seats didn't stop it he might have hit somebody in the Gaslamp
In honor of Ted Lietner ( who disclosed that he will be having cancer surgery on a kidney )....that ball was CA...RUSSSHED

Seriously. His stuff/deception isn't good enough to get away with poor command. I'm ready to send him back down to AAA where he maaaaybe can become the next Erlin. I'm not sure we should bank on him being much more than that.

He's a just turned 23 year old rookie, guys. Let's relax a little before we anoint him a complete bust. He wasn't missing by a whole lot tonight, but the fastball command has to get more consistent. It didn't really matter since you can't win scoring 0 runs.

Like Erlin his stuff is just not good enough to dominate.
At best he can have a good game here and there but the other nights he will get hit hard.
