So time to over react … but today focusing on Tatis. In this game (and in ST), Tatis is showing zero enthusiasm in the field or at bat … that was his calling card that contributed to him getting that early long term deal. Only being up beat when getting a hit or winning is not a good watch. Actually in ST his few moments of enthusiasm seemed “forced” just for a short moment then move back to a flat personality.

Not sure what is going on with Tatis … but he is a bad watch if not hitting well … and he is not. A long season … so we will see.

 

 

I noticed that the other day as well with FTJ. Kid is playing with zero enthusiasm.

I knew pulling him out of the IF was a huge setback for him but he definitely found his mojo in RF!

But batting him 2nd? I think that's a big FU to him. He should be hitting leadoff( most disruptive base runner in the sport) or at worst, 4th( our biggest HR threat).

He probably thinks he's being punished. Sure been playing like it. Needs to snap out of it REALLY QUICK though!

Musgrove had little command (60 pitches before being pulled in the 3rd) … sort of similar to Darvish yesterday but more hittable. Fortunately, Yamamoto and Grove for the LAD were way worse. Cosgrove just added to the fire.

Offensively Bogaerts is still hitting with two more hits in the first three innings … two hits for Campusano and Wade (who got the start at 3B again).

This may turn out to be a long game if neither team can find a pitcher who is on their game and can go multiple innings.

First time I really saw King’s stuff … mid 90s FB and he has a lot of movement on his pitches … can see why he is viewed as a plus pitcher. As with the other pitchers …. Command not there yet.

Should note that after Profar move to  2nd on a wild pitch … Azocar came in to PR … no indication why. Also with a LHP Shildt chose to pinch hit for Wade (2 hits) with Rosario who struck out. RHH vs LHP but it is the 6th inning and just used Azocar. Bench down to Pauley (LHH) and Higashioka (RHH). Given the way the game is going … the idea of a RHH being better to drive in another run fits … but not sure I would have had the confidence in Rosario.

Maybe the combo of the shorten ST and the long trip to Korea but clearly the pitching is not ready … and that in turn makes whatever hitting suspect.

Matsui in and Ohtani on the first pitch just missed a HR. Freemen comes up with a hard hit to RF. L on L in both cases … both hard hit balls.
