Quote from BoosterSD on July 15, 2022, 6:57 amYou would think that the pitching match ups favor SD in all 3 games, and that the games are being played in SD, that this is a good chance for 2 of 3, or a sweep.
All though, with our hitting woes at home, nothing is a given.
This again, is a series, where Melvin is here versus the last two, and Melvin needs to right this team and get us back on track.

City connect unis tonight (1-0 undefeated)..I'd wear them all weekend for the SWEEP

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 15, 2022, 7:53 amIf we don't win 2 of 3 or sweep I will officially be worried.
Then again we couldn't beat the Rockies even with Musgrove on the mound so I'm already worried.
Just not "officially" I guess.....lol

Quote from Henry Silvestre on July 15, 2022, 8:05 amSeems like the team got off the gate playing great baseball... then got to June "anticipating" a Tatis return and sort of coasted from 6/1 to 6/25... since 6/25 .. I believe we are 6-14.. as "the waiting for Tatis we will be fine sentiment spread like weeds in their heads"..now it's like oh oh wtf happened and where is Tatis....
Wake the F up..LFGOSD...

I have moved to “officially” worried as the lead in the Wild Card race is really narrowing.
Basically, LAD(30 losses) and NYM(34 losses) are pretty much a lock for the playoffs with Atlanta (37 losses) and in the #1 Wild Card slot for now but could switch with the Mets. Atlanta is really looking good recently.
MILW (40 losses) and STL (44 loses) are in a battle for the NL Central and based on winnng percentage STL is in the 3rd Wild Card slot. However, STL has a nice schedule advantage with their next six games vs CINN and then at the end of the season 6 straight games against PITT … should score a lot of wins / limit more losses.
SD sits with 41 losses in 2nd Wild Card and could see STL making a real challenge and then neck and neck with MILW (one game difference in losses now).
The the remaining contender: PHIL(43 losses); SF(43 losses); and MIA(45 losses) are all within combo of a Padre losing streak and a contender winning streak or even just a gradual weekly erosion of a game. Gap between the furthest outlier MIA is only 4 losses. So the way the Padres have played over the past few weeks … concern given three legit contenders to jump up.

We cheer for St Louis to win the Division as we are 0-3 vs them..and we won the season series vs Brewers so if we are tied with Brewers or Braves for a WC spot we get in.. we are also ahead of the Mets 2-1 and SF.... so only team I am super worried about is Philly..they need to loose loose and loose...St Louis (SP)..Brewers (Hitting).. dont scare me much in post season.. Braves don't either to be honest... Mets do with DeGroom amd Max... LAD obviously.. but that's it..Phillies lineup at full strength is scary and Nola and Wheeler hot 🔥 could present a big problem... it will really come down to who is playing the best in the post season and who is the healthiest...

Coors Field is NOT real baseball.
