It seems like a good time to use the old Earl Weaver quote. "Momentum? Momentum is the next day's starting pitcher." We're going to need a much better effort from Hill and the offense in the rematch with Gallen.

OK, we really need a sweep of AZ for three reasons.

One, gets us 4 wins over a team directly ahead of us in both the NL West standings and the WC race.

Two, it would be our first winning streak over 3 games this season.

Three, and most important, would give SD a better record than AZ and gets me closer to winning my yearly bet with my AZ fan buddy!!

I've written off this team like 4 times now, and yet they still find ways to claw me back because I'm an idiot.

FTJ has finally found a groove again. 12 for his last 25 and an inspired swipe of home.

HSK continues to be a revelation and the most valuable position player in baseball.

Croney has improved his BA by over 30 points over the last 15 games.

We have one of the most productive C platoons in baseball over the last month.

Cooper and Gamel look like they might - just maybe - wake up our DH slot.

Xander has started to hit again.

We have the Cy Young favorite, the best closer in baseball, the return of possibly the best SP signing of the offseason, and (hopefully) a few weeks away from the return of San Diego's Favorite Son.

And we just put together one of our most complete games of the season against one of the best teams in MLB.

If Soto and Manny can wake back up, this team may quite finally be primed for a run.

Tatis has obviously changed his approach to get more hits but at the expense of his power.

Surely this isn’t for health reasons (shoulder/wrist) right?

If he was hurting he wouldn’t be playing.

I do miss those bombs though…

Just got to my seats. This is the emptiest the park has been at a game I've been to this year.

How many fly ball outs to the wall are we going to hit tonight?

Not to mention line drives right to the outfielder.

It seems like we've had about a dozen hard hit balls find gloves. We've had a couple would be doubles end up inches foul too. They deserve better results than they've gotten tonight.

Did I see FIVE called 3rd strikes tonight?

We must lead the league.

If I could remember my Little League coaches name maybe he could help…he taught us to swing at anything close with 2 strikes.Guess they don’t do that anymore….better to walk back to the dugout with the bat I guess.

Exact type of game I was afraid of.

Its a good thing it was Hill and not one of the others.

Hill gave up TWO hits and we lost.

Not a pitching issue…..more a perfect example of how this season has gone.

Hard hit balls all night long and nothing to show for it.

I think it's time to see what Avila can do . It sure would be nice if what he is doing is for real .
