Game 2 Saturday July 13th 4:15 pm PDT

SD Dylan Cease vs ATL Reynaldo Lopez

Game 3 Sunday July 14th 1:10 pm PDT

SD Randy Vasquez vs ATL Chris Sale

A chance to gain some ground on the Braves in the last series before the break. Shildt is shuffling the rotation a bit. Vasquez would be going on Friday if they stayed on turn.

The Padres enter the last series before the All-Star break looking to break a 4-game losing streak. Last May, they took 3 of 4 in Atlanta. Let's hope they can repeat their success against them here at Petco. They will go up against two of their best pitchers.

According to padres.com, Vasquez opens the series, followed by Waldron and then Cease.

The Dodgers also lost 4 in a row, but the Padres gained no ground.  The Padres need to step it up and gain not just on the Braves, but Also on the Dodgers. The Padres are currently not in one of the WC slots. They are 4th, percentage points behind the Mets, a game behind the Cardinals, and 4 games behind the Braves, but only a 2 win difference.

Relevant NL West games:
Dodgers(55-39) at Tigers(45-49) The Padres are 7 games back, but 6 wins behind
Blue Jays(43-50) at Diamondbacks(47-47) The Padres are 1 game ahead, but two wins ahead
Twins(53-40) at Giants(45-49) The Padres are 3 game ahead, but 4 wins ahead

GO PADRES!

Multiple beat writers reported that they were pushing Vasquez back after the game on Wednesday. I just don't think MLB has updated things on their end yet. I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow.

Ultra!!  It’s great to see you in this forum!  I miss reading your posts in the defunct Sign on San Diego forum.  I’m hoping others will join this forum as well.

Sean Reynolds is reportedly getting called up. I'm guessing that means Peralta is headed to the IL.

Long time no see Ultra

Anytime the Padres play the Braves it’s always a win win for me…I live in San Diego and have been a Padres fan since they played at Westgate park but I also own a home in Northern Georgia so when I’m there I’ll root for the Braves unless they are playing my Padres. I do like Northern Georgia and the gun laws are so much better than California…with that being said I’ll be at petco for this whole series 👍⚾️

Go Padres !!!

He’s the tall kid we acquired from the Marlins in the deal that sent Weathers to Mia.  I believe he has yet to make his MLB debut.

Likewise. I was disappointed the forum went down.

Likewise. weren't you on the defunct scout.com forum? Scout.comand the Sign on San Diego forum, later forum.sandiegouniontribune.com, both went defunct. I hope this one does not. I like being in these forums.
