Padres vs Braves Game Thread

So here come the Braves into town with their own rebuild in progress and a boatload of young stars

As I eluded to in another thread, this should be a good litmus test as to the progress of our rebuild. What are about a year behind the Braves? Obviously we are waiting for the bulk of the good pitching prospects and the arrival of Tatis and Urias, but a good showing against a rising Braves team should go along way to bolster the confidence of the average Padre fan.

It'd be nice to put up a good fight against the Braves, but I'd hope that average Padres fans aren't looking for Richard/Lyles/Lockett to bolster their confidence in the 2019/2020 teams.

Well MrP, so far so good for Spangy tonight. IMO the HR was horrible for him to hit, however the triple was awesome. I wish he would hit more triples like that more often.

Dig what I'm seeing tonight at Petco: 3 top picks contributing to a Padre run away lead.
And Reyes ain't bad either.......

Nice game tonight..... a couple of thoughts
Freddy Galvis has just been so solid all year.....1 error in 270 total chances.....996 pct
Jose Castillo is legit.....please don't trade this guy
At the risk of offending all of the Villanueva lovers.....he is not a 3rd baseman...10 errors in 123 total chances....919 pct
Is there anybody else in the Padres System ?
Can the Padres get one more win on this road trip ?
They sit at 5-3 with 2 games to go....Lyles and a Bullpen start

I know there's a lot of Galvis haters on this board, but I love how he plays. I would love it if they extended him 2 years and let Tatis stay in the minors for at least half of 2019, then use Galvis as a mentor for 2020 and a bridge to the Tatis era.

I love what Freddy brings on the defensive side of the ball. People who lack understanding of just how horrific our shortstop play has been over the last 5-7 years (HISTORICALLY, Chris Davis level bad) don't appreciate the drastic improvement that has had on the infield and the pitching staff. I also think he's had a lot of bad luck with the bat recently. He's been hitting a lot of balls hard, especially to left and left center.
