What's Pauley outlook as a defender?
He's a 3rd baseman by trade, right? Any good? Obviously not going to be as good as Manny but is Rosario better?

Pauley is a below average fielder … Rosario is much better.
Pauley is also a below average runner and somewhat of an average arm … looks like his future is directly dependent on his ability to hit with an outside chance of developing as a 1B … otherwise DH.
Once Machado returns to 3B … a least for 2024 … his future will be DH (unless Solano steps up … played in EP last night) and a filler as others take a day off in the filed. If he does not start hitting in the ML soon … I expect him to be optioned to EP again.

I’d like to see Rosario get a chance to play every day tbh.
As long as we don’t have a LH hitting 3B who’s actually hitting…..why not?
If he can hit both he’s our DH when/if Manny plays 3B this year.

Well maybe not … Wade is back at 3B today. Am a bit surprised they did not go again with Pauley but maybe sees today ‘s game as more critical and wants a player he has more confidence in at the moment both defensively and offensively. Maybe not the future but right now.
Note that Solano is playing his second game in EP today (1B) … so he may be up sooner than later but probably not at 3B but IF Manny has to linger in the DH role while getting little offense out of 3B they just may run Solano out there.

Think this a big game for Musgrove and the Padres. A three game losing streak needs to be snapped but Padres really need Musgrove to return to form with Darvish down (and marginally effective when up). From what we have seen … Padres need the 5 man rotation to be on every game to counteract the hot/cold nature of the offense.

That was bad too. I feel like Profar has had at least 5 bad mistakes on the bases this season.
