It sounds like Jackson Wolf is going to get the start tomorrow.

Reported that the Padres will add Jackson Wolf ... up from SA ... and start him on Saturday.
Will have to be added to the 40 man and a pitcher will have to be optioned (or DFA or IL) from the 26 man. Knehr could go to the 60 day for the 40 man slot.
Says a lot of the current thinking on Weathers, Avila, Waldron, Avila who are on the 40 man.

Juan Soto with over 900+ feet off home runs and it’s still the 3rd inning.

AJ isn’t trading Soto.
Would be an admission that this season is over and that the trade was the wrong thing to do.
Next year we add 2 bats (to replace Cruz/Sanchez) ,a Starter (Snell) ,and some Pen pieces(Hader/Garcia) with $ saved by free agents moving on.
2024….World Series or bust here we come!

Agree Preller is not trading Soto or any of the players controlled for 2024.

LFG Wolf , I will be at the game tonight and will be pissed if I have to watch a subpar Tigers team beat us again in Detroit .

This team is so frustrating. They pull you in to break your heart again. Had they swept Philly like they should have they would be without a doubt heavy buyers and might have even made a trade already.
Can Wolf be that solid rotation piece to close out the season? Push Lugo to the pen once Wacha comes back? Excited to see what he brings today. Just need 6-7 innings 3 runs allowed. Manny and/or Tatis goes off today to show Soto they can hit too. Hopefully Crone can get out of his funk and shorten up that swing. Nice to see him smash that triple yesterday.
Sounds like the team might finally be coming together based on recent comments by players. Suarez’s return kept the pen from blowing another one. Man he looked good. Padres back to only 5.5 out of the wild card. Have a feeling they sweep Detroit and win 7 of next 8 to get within 3 games of the wild card and make a bold move for Bellinger/Candelario/Goldy/Profar and a bullpen piece or two. Need to keep getting Campusano at bats to see what we have with him. Garcia and Carp are the weak links right now.

My mistake ... Knehr is already on the 60 day (think to make room for Kohlway) ... so another 40 man move will come today along with the 26 man move of a pitcher.
