With MadBum on the mound I don’t see Hos hitting ahead of Myers and Renfroe.

MadBum will probably only go six being so early in the year. So Hosmer may only see him twice. That way it breaks up the Righties for the bullpen.

What positions/roles are you referring to?  I could see the OD starting pitcher being an add, anyone else you see?

Now we have to pray that Lucchesi can induce a lot of ground balls or pop-ups since that OF may be just a bit lacking in defensive skills. Maybe alternatively they go opening day with their best ground ball pitcher just to minimize balls to the OF.

Side ... they really like to mess with Myers for some reason even after he has shown little adaptability to various positions and just because one is athletic does not make the versatile. All that has to be a negative on his hitting.

Think some in the FO are just playing video games with him and are not considering what is best for Myers may be best for the Padres if one position (LF) maximized his defense / offense contribution.

The definition of crazy is to do the same thing over and over again and hope for success. Why dont we just play Machado at 2B that day, he is a good athlete as well.

Just leave well enough alone and lets see if Myers can stay healthy in LF and start producing like his All Star season again.

Cordero/Myers platoon with Myers in LF against righthanders Cordero in CF?

 

We're not in the "figuring it out" stage anymore....we are in the "win games" any way we can stage.
