I think when our pen is full strength Rogers could work his way into a full-time closer role, but with our severe lack of LHP in the bullpen at the moment I would expect he will share closer duties with Suarez. That would give Melvin the flexibility to deploy him early in high leverage/LHH situations.

Paddack, Pagan and a player to be named later for Rogers, Rooker and 6.6m is the full trade.

Thanks Jeremy

Getting under the cap makes the trade a good one in my opinion. Pagan has all the stuff in the world but seems to give up crushing HRs at the worst time

Has anyone heard any Conforto rumors?

Hard to believe he won't sign with "somebody" for "something" right?

I'm not seeing anything since March 25th ... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/03/latest-on-michael-conforto.html

Or March 31st ... https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/why-ex-met-michael-conforto-remains-unsigned

Or this today 🙂

Guardians and Red Sox emerge as front runners for free agent Michael Conforto

I still will be fascinated with the structure of any Conforto deal.

As far as I can tell, so far, Conforto wants a deal based on his profile discounting his 2021 and his current injury and not conceding anything to a QO cost.

As much as any team would like to add the "old" Conforto ... how much of gamble would they be willing to take to pay a premium price or will they attempt (given already in season) a "bargain" deal?

AAV - contract length - value of the draft pick lost ... a lot of issues.
